Good Idea or Bad Idea: Marnie’s Plastic Dress

Prepare for a spoiler alert if you haven’t already caught up on last night’s episode of Girls…but Marnie Michaels wore a gold, plastic dress for two reasons that we could come up with: to avoid looking “basic”or “too cute” and to impress her new famous artist boyfriend and his cool friends.
Other than the fact that her dress was difficult to move in–it made for a less than graceful exit after her “boyfriend” clued her in that they were just sleeping together and not, in fact, actually dating–would you wear it? Do you think her look was futurist art-party cool? Or weird and lame?
And what was up with her blatant lie of a phone call to Hannah-post party telling her that everything was just swell. Would you be too embarrassed to let your friend know that the person you thought was your boyfriend turned out not to be? We’ve been on both ends of that phone call and let’s just say it’s always better to talk it out. That’s said, let’s talk it all out in the comments section below.—RAY SIEGEL

I think she looks a little uncomfortable and stiff, especially since her usual style on the show is pretty generic young professional looking clothes. I think she wanted to look hot for Booth Jonathan in the plastic dress, but she looked so much hotter in the gold two piece dress underneath.
She should have just worn that, but to go with her character’s overreaching personality, the plastic dress made the scene classic Marnie.

The dress was amazing! It was something really different which was refreshing. The gold thing she was wearing underneath was even more amazing though. That said, the reason she wore it was a misguided.

I thought it looked really cool, but I can’t imagine how uncomfortable it would be to wear, and I strive for fashionable AND comfortable in my style

WHERE CAN I GET THIS DRESS?!

I thought it was just to impress the art scene world she desperately clutched to along with Booth Jonathan. She had just been told prior at a job interview she was not meant to be in the art world. I think she was really striving and trying to hard to prove she fit the gig. On someone with the right stylistic personality, it would look better on and more comfortable.

The dress was a definite huge hit in my books, it really served its purpose, people have been talking about this dress. We had a debate about this very dress last night.

It is really bad idea even we having lot of dressing materials.
