Child’s Play

Confession: I bought a coat from boy’s section of Crewcuts (mini J. Crew) in a size 12 (years-old).
Another confession: Vada Sultenfuss from My Girl has, and will always be, my style icon.
So call me crazy, but these day’s the kid’s section seems to be where it’s at. And though I’m not six-years-old, and definitely prefer not being caught in a t-shirt made for a toddler, I swear I’ve come up with some of my best outfits thanks to junior apparel.
Case in point: Zara’s newly released spring ’13 kids’ lookbook shown above. Sure, the child modeling is pretty darn cute–but aside from that, the styling also’s spot on. From a white jean vest and basic white tee pairing to vertical black-and-white striped clam diggers, we plan on using this entire lookbook as outfit inspiration come spring. — ALI HOFFMAN

One of my favorite blazers is a Goodwill find… a boy’s Van Heusen blazer that was mistakenly stuck in the women’s section. I love wandering the kids sections looking for things… oh the joys of being smaller!
