We all know the saying: No white after Labor Day.

But despite the potential for a serial mom attack, we’re big believers in rule-breaking. And Harley Viera Newton’s outfit at the 2013 Armory Party only proves that rules are indeed meant to be broken. She doesn’t go for just a little bit of the neutral–she wears it practically head-to-toe.

The real key to her  look is how she layers in color; here it’s bright red, on her lips and under her lace dress, but it could be anything. That’s the great thing with white: You can pair it with whatever you like (even all the neons we’ll inevitably be seeing from now until next Labor Day) and your outfit will still look understated.
