Best Dressed: Katharine McPhee
Full disclosure: I’ve never watched Smash, nor have I seen an episode of American Idol. But I don’t think you need to be a longtime fan of Katharine McPhee’s to like this outfit.
What makes it work is that it all looks so effortless, even though it’s hardly sloppy; the combination of the lace dress, texture moto jacket, and black ankle boots should equal lounge-on-your-couch-all-day ensemble, but instead it’s more stay-out-all-night. And yeah, the fact that there are dogs in this photo certainly helps her cause. (Ditto for her hair, which has that rolled out of bed look we spend hours trying to recreate every evening.)
