Suede Are Baaaack!
If you like your band revivals to reach back further than 2001 (ie, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs aren’t old enough for you), you’ll be happy to know that Suede are back.
Yes, Brett Anderson & Co. are bringing their early-’90s brand of Brit-pop to 2013, with the band’s (now called The London Suede, though we’re sticking to Suede because the new name is kind of silly sounding) first studio album in 11 years out today. Bloodsports may not have anthems like “Animal Nitrate,” but there are certainly some burners on there. I had an inkling that this would be one reunion that wouldn’t suck when I saw the band perform at SummerSonic Music Festival in Tokyo two years ago–Anderson was, yes, sexy as ever, and had way more onstage energy than all five of the Strokes (who played the day before) combined.
You can order your copy of Bloodsports here–and while you wait for it arrive, have a little flashback with the music video above. —REBECCA WILLA DAVIS
