Style Showdown: And It Was All Yellow

Check out this incredibly colorful capsule collection for Prada, dubbed “Le Voyager!” We’re dying for the printed espadrilles, but in case we can’t afford them, the printed-scarf-as-headband is a pretty great look that anyone can do for summer!

Last year, Fred Flare sold Bella’s jacket from Twilight.
It was kind of funny and kind of alluring, and the actual coat – an army riff from BB Dakota – was very cute.
But today, Fred Flare unveiled “The Kendall Dress,” i.e. an outfit worn by Kendall Kardashian.
As evidenced by the photo at left, Kendall is adorable, looks like a healthy and happy teenage girl, and has cute taste in clothes.
At the same time, seeing your clothes on someone else’s TV show is sometimes a great source of fashion pride, and sometimes a little annoying – especially if you pride yourself on having unique style.
Would you buy this dress, even if you’d already seen it on reality TV?
(If the answer is yes, this cute outfit is $84, online now.)
Soon, it will be too warm to wear your trendy letterman jacket, but that’s okay -
Markus Lupfer has created a clever way to keep your coed fashion fix going all through summer.
The clever British designer just released his second collection of sequin letter brooches, an alphabet of felt pins inspired by varsity badges.
You can order whatever letter (or letters) you like, and pin them anywhere -
A t-shirt, a denim jacket, a tote bag, or even on the bottom of a long chain necklace.
The brooches are $20 each, and come in black felt with yellow, pink, blue, and green sequin trim.
According to Just Jared, Gwen Stefani wore the outfit at left to a Coldplay concert.
That’s too bad for Gwyneth Paltrow, aka Mrs. Chris Martin, because with this ensemble, Gwen just totally trumped any other blonde in a cool outfit.
Gwen pairs a pink leather bomber with a burnout baseball tee, a black bra, polka dot jeans, and black boots.
She sticks with her signature red lipstick and pulls her hair into a top knot.
And she’s basically at her most rock ‘n roll awesome.
Not only that, this outfit is really easy to replicate:
Urban Outfitters makes a $60 bubblegum moto jacket.
Alternative Apparel is full of similar tees, most for under $40.
And Current / Elliott has a pair of $200 black polka-dot jeans –
Although if you’re even 30% crafty, you can grab a pair of black or dark blue jeans, take some white fabric paint and a paint brush – or even the cap of a really thick marker – and DIY the look yourself.

Has the social media craze gotten so crazy that it’s now inspiring footwear? The answer is yes, yes it has, but at least shoes are a little more useful than a Facebook shower curtain.
Social Media Shoes are classic Keds that have been combined with everyone’s favorite websites, and we have to admit that Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Flickr really do make eye-catching sneaker designs (the polka dots on the Flickr pair are pretty trendy).
The mastermind behind these contemporary kicks is Lumen Bigott, a 22-year-old graphic designer from Venezuela.
But don’t get too excited (or relieved) because the shoes are only a design concept (for now).
If you could purchase these Internet-inspired sneakers, would you pick one based on your favorite website, or the ones you think are most attractive?
We think the Twitter pair would be cute for spring (and, um, we’re obsessed with Twitter) – but we’re not sure if they’ll ever actually get made.

It’s Friday, we’re exhausted, and that’s exactly why we’re totally inspired by Jessica Alba’s outfit.
The 31-year-old actress pulled together a simple, easy-to-do look, but because she chose bright colors, the outfit became exceptional.
Jessica’s mixed pieces from Kate Spade with two-tone shoes by Giuseppe Zanotti (good job for noticing those, FabSugar!), black jewelry, and a red lip to create a totally modern, fun, and chic ensemble.
If you’re not into trousers, you can do something similar with a pair of colored jeans - Gap’s are $70, and come in every color you can imagine.
(And if you’re not into red, you can definitely try a pair of pink skinnies – but make sure your lipstick is also pink, if you’re really into a head-to-toe commitment.)

Just Jared has some new photos of Dakota Fanning, heading back to college classes today.
She’s wearing Isabel Marant sneaker wedges and carrying a Celine bag.
She looks great (obviously), but her accessories alone could finance a scholarship fund.
Still, dressing up for class is a tradition at some schools, while at others – especially those with long bouts of cold weather – pajama pants are practically a campus requirement.
What are your thoughts on wearing designer stuff to class?

Mary-Kate Olsen and Mary Jane Watson may not be the same girl, but they come together in Elizabeth + James’ TEXTILE line for Fall.
The denim range appears to take its colors and graphics from comic books in their new look book.
Options include flat-front plaid pants, washed-out knees, and camo mash-ups to wear come September, all in saturated color pigments reminiscent of Marvel Superhero outfits.
There are also some nods to Lichtenstein’s comic book pop art -
Specifically, t-shirts that say “BANG!” in giant, exploding letters.
Click through to see more of the TEXTILE by Elizabeth and James Fall collection, which you can actually buy really early – as in, next week! – at Bergdorf Goodman and Denim Habit.
