Assouline’s new book for Dior has the most amazing cover. Hopefully they’ll release it as a poster, too? (Hint, Assouline, hint!)
About a year ago we stumbled across Dear Photograph, the nostalgic blog with the tagline “Take a picture of a picture from the past in the present.”
We featured it as our favorite Site of the Day, checked it frequently, and daydreamed about which childhood photograph’s we’d like to re-shoot/revisit.
So we’re obviously thrilled to hear Dear Photograph is now available in book form, which does seem a bit more fitting considering the context.
Officially hitting shelves today, the book boasts more than 140 never-before-seen Dear Photographs, and even includes a place for you to add in your own entry.
Bottom line: It’s a must-have for your coffee table.
Behold: An entire book about marshmallows.
Written by Shauna Sever, Marshmallow Madness boasting everything from mallow-inspired cocktails to key lime pie flavored puffs of goodness.
And, yes, the word “puffalicious” can be found several times throughout the text.
In other words, this book is pretty much for anyone who loves stickers and mini-cupcakes (a.k.a. everyone).
In fact, we’re going to go as far as to say Marshmallow Madness is to cookbooks as Lisa Frank is to office supplies.
This month, our friends at The Paris Review publish their 200th literary journal (from New York City – not Paris).
To celebrate, they asked some of their favorite New Yorkers – including our digital director, Faran – to wear their famous logo on Facebook!
This graffiti post is dedicated to their smartypants staff.
It’s also a verbal challenge:
What’s the best phrase you can make that includes all the consecutive letters to “POST NO BILLS”?
The mystery tagger at left went for an Occupy Wall Street statement.
What will yours do?!

Today, CNN discusses a new children’s book called “Vegan Is Love.”
Written and illustrated by Ruby Roth, the story chronicles factory farming, lab testing, and animal abuse.
It is aimed at seven-year-olds.
Many critics claim the book is extremist, and that it could put children’s health at risk if they stick to an all-vegan diet, especially if they’re already picky eaters.
Roth and her supporters claim the real protests should be aimed at the American food industry, and not a book that wants you to eat Tofurkey.
Meanwhile, we just want to know:
When is there gonna be a book called “My mommy is a fashion editor.” ?!

Bonus: each one is perforated, so you can rip them out for yourself or your friends.
Buy it here for $14….which is definitely more cost-effective than 365 days of takeout.
As the frontwoman of indie band Wild Flag, former writer for NPR, and the cowriter/costar of the hilarious IFC comedy show Portlandia, Carrie Brownstein is the ultimate multitasker.
Now she’s adding another slash to the resume, according to the New York Times.

It will follow her all the way from her childhood, through her experience in Sleater-Kinney, all the way to her days in Wild Flag.
And we thought Carrie couldn’t get any cooler….
