That’s ROXY Girl Iris Yen at the beach.
We spent most of the day there, watching surfers prepare for the Eddies, a tournament in honor of lifeguard and surfer Eddie Aikau, who died while saving a capsized boat full of his friends (they survived).
To mark the opening of the competition, Eddie’s peers held a paddle-out, the traditional memorial service for surfers, where riders form a circle on their boards while a prayer is chanted into the ocean and sky.
Then there was a luau. And lots of mai tais.
It’s 8 am here in Hawaii, but I’m already up, prepping for a full day in the water – maybe I’ll actually get up on a wave by sundown.

PS – Being a ROXY Girl apparently has its privileges around here. When a local cop saw the “ROXY Team” sticker on our car, he cleared a parking spot for us ON THE GRASS next to the beach. “You girls are the bomb!” he said. Um, amazing.

That’s us in the water at 8 pm last night.
Surfers here start at dawn, and go until there’s no more sun – when a series of foghorns signal it’s time to come in for the night.
Of course, some people break the rules -
Like the pro surfers I’ll be watching today at a big surfing invitational, called The Eddy.

But maybe it will be in a few days, when I get back from this season’s Roxy Surf Camp.
You may remember when our senior editor, Natalie Shakur, went for her RSC training this summer in Montauk. Now it’s my turn, and I’m getting shipped out to Honolulu (OMG!) for a serious board score.

Like right now, I’m sitting at a desk across from the giant snowy mountains of Salt Lake. It’s sort of a trip considering I’m wearing a Roxy bikini underneath my sweater.

I live in O’ahu and a few friends and i went hiking up to the pill boxes in Lanikai a few weeks ago, while we were up there i saw a quote on one of the pill boxes that i thought was really sweet, so i thought I’d share it with you!
It’s a very long, uphill hike for someone who isn’t the out doors type, which is exactly what I am, but the view is always worth it, so I attached a couple other pictures of the view you get to see from up there. (:

This winter, we flipped for a first look of Cynthia Rowley’s new collection for Roxy.
Now, pieces have popped up online.
Besides a wetsuit and a few pairs of shorts, you can score these adorable wedges – in the psychedelic triangle print at left, or a more traditional gingham check – for $79.
They’re available on roxy.com and also – presumably – in Roxy stores.
The line goes through Spring and Summer, but we’re expecting it to sell out fast.
