Nylon Muses, I present to you some of my dearest friends new brands, “Love Yourself” and “L’Agence”. Two lines from Los Angeles that have simeltaneously taken off this weekend and Im so proud to share them with you. I remember reading Diane’s “Straight Westcoastin” entry here on the NYLON blogs about where she was so impressed with her friends talents (I agreed) and seeing that everyone that knows me calls me “momager”, I couldn’t help sharing my awesome and talented friends as well (especially since I believe them to be right up the NYLON aesthetic alley)!

I mean, look at Stunning Little Lourdes working her new “I heart Me” tee shirt by Ofer Moses and Mastin Kipp of “Love Yourself”.

Nothing pleases me more than a coffee and reading the Sunday Times (both coasts of course). So imagine how my giddy and pleased I was to open up the style section of the Times and have my best friend Simone be featured in it as one of the top wardrobe stylists in the city (right next to my personal mentor and past boss, Andrea Lieberman)! Simone is now extending herself to be available to all of you with her new clothing line “L’Agence”. Her line is divine and although it won’t be available till Holiday, I suggest you put it on your “wish list” now, because it is the creme de la creme of tee’s and basics.

HAPPY MID WEEK EVERYONE!

If any of you little darlin’s live in LA or the surrounding area, I would be ecstatic for you to come by my event TONIGHT at the WTC boutique! We are debuting a adorable tee shirt line called “Love Yourself”.

All the shirts have a 70’s vintage feel from the graphic to the fabric (soft soft soft to the touch). I’m baking my famous chocolate chip cookies. I have ordered special “Love Yourself” red velvet cupcakes.

The atmosphere will make you feel like dancing around the room because I asked my favorite dj’s to spin (Adam 12 from “She Wants Revenge” and Dj Tim Nordwind (From the band “Okay GO”). So I guarantee if you come down, it will be worth it!!!!

My friend just sent me this and I had to share.

It’s a band called, well, I don’t think it can be called a band due to it’s members being all robots. Or perhaps seeing that a human is the mastermind behind this it has validity to being called a band?

THE NYLON TOUR came to town Unfortunately I didn’t get to see all the other bands because I was upstairs admiring my little god son “Bowie” crawl around his dad’s dressing room and it’s hard to walk away from that kind of thing.

He’s the only distraction to date that can keep me away from a great show going on in the other room. Justin (Swr) played The Virgin’s cd on the way over to the Wiltern and kept raving about them and all the bands on tour and I have to say, the first thing I said was “who is this” because I really liked what I was hearing.

Perhaps Nylon will do a European tour and I can find a way to catch the show in it’s entirety (WINK).

Well hello there Nylon dolls,

Summer is officially “on” in LA and I don’t know if it’s because of the heat storm we are braving or if it’s just that time of the year that we all just go for it. Maybe it was because the NYLON tour was headed our way for their final bow at the Wiltern.

It all started with a text I got late Thursday evening saying that our friend was having a “cowboys and Indian” themed party the next night. So on Friday night my SGF (super good friend) “Alexi” picked me up and we decided we would pack some indian garb in our bags for the party, but head to Teddy’s (the club) first. Tennesse Thomas (The Like) and Zooey Deschanel were Djn’g and we wanted to get our dance on. WE DID. It was one of those nights when you start dancing the second you step in to a place and you just know it’s going to be worth the mascara and in our case (head dresses?). We headed straight to the back to cheer the DJ’s on.

Word spreads fast, because when I pulled up to the show, there was a line formed outside which I haven’t seen for a while on a Monday night at Spaceland.

As we all know, weekends are for relaxing and Monday’s are for going out.

Which means, I need to see you tonight at Spaceland!

The band Afternoons are beginning their month long residency at Spaceland and my good friends (and favorite band) “Warpaint” are helping them kick it off.

I don’t blog unless I mean it, so you have my word that this is going to be amazing.

The best part of having the local neighborhood cafe across the street from my store is being able to sit at this chair for a “impromptu coffee break”. A day in the East Side at “The Mustard Seed” goes a little like this……..
