At today’s NYLON casting call, we met Liza Golden, 18.

Liza comes from New Jersey, and belongs to One Model Management.

She’s part of a growing influx of American models – something really exciting after years and years of Russians dominating the catwalks (though we love Russians, too!).

Liza has a cool tattoo on her wrist, but she says, “My mom would have killed me if I’d gotten it done before I turned eighteen.”

She just graduated high school, so she’s finally making the jump to New York City, to give modeling her best shot.

Today’s Site of the Day is Your Boyhood, a street style blog from South Korea.

We love seeing fashion in other countries (hence the NYLON book, STREET) and this site is such a cool window into the urban styles of Seoul, a place I confess I’ve never been – although if anyone wants to invite me, I’m totally game.

The website is a great index of inspiration, but it’s also just funny to flick through it and come up with cheeseball puns, like “Seoul Brothers” and “KoReally Awesome.” And now you know what we do in the NYLON office all day…

Today’s Song of the Day is from The French Kicks, because web editor Samantha wants to marry them and have a million of their babies. Or, okay, she just wrote a really great story about them.

If you live in New York, you may have noticed an influx of tall, sparkly, sort of crooked  looking creatures with flaxen hair and onyx eyeliner, creeping around the city.

These would be models, flown in from places we can’t pronounce for campaign season.  As we speak, ads are getting shot for Dolce + Gabbana, CK Jeans, H&M, Kenneth Cole… you name it.  And these models are their cheerleaders, their champions, their stars.

In honor of them, and the fact that they’ll be going home again soon, today’s site is one of their motherships, One Model Management.  They just redid their whole web base, and it’s pretty incredibly gorgeous, with photos of girls like Devon Aoki at left.

Today’s song of the day is Rich Girls by The Virgins, because NYLON TV Bridget and I cannot stop singing it, even though we don’t know the words.  That’s the total mark of a good song.  xo faran.

Today, Mark came into the office, unannounced, didn’t even tell anybody he was in town.

He smelled pizza and he STOLE IT.

Samantha, our lovely and starving web editor, called him out.She got a t-shirt. Sounds like a fair trade to us.

Today, we got some cupcakes.

They had our names on them.

We wanted to eat them, but it felt a little like cannibalism.

So we took a lot of pictures.

How postmodern.

Yo guyz, so as I was surfing the internet, I came across these photos from the NYLON and The Kills party. The photos were taken by one of my faves Jack Siegel (www.theskullset.com)… I should have known to look for these pics as I was standing there watching the concert with him! Thinking back on it, all I have to say is that the Kills are amazingggggggggg live. If you have a chance to go and see them, DO IT!!!… also a little bit of gossip… Maybe I am behind the game, but Jamie “Hotel” Hince is dating Kate Moss i heard! I am sorry, but I think that’s tight. Yo, check out one of favorite style icons, who has definitely been a NYLON fav from the beginning. Kirsten Dunst is the new face of the Miu Miu Spring 2008 Ad campaign, and scores a 10 across the board in my opinion. The campaign was shot by photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott in November in Los Angeles.

I was sad she was not walking the red carpet on Sunday at the Academy Awards because I am sure she would have looked amazing, but this photo shoot alone is enough style inspiration for awhile!

Yo guyz, so there are some 2008 great updates on some websites. One of my fav artists Brendan Lynch redesigned and updated www.thebrendanlynch.com.

Check some of the new pieces and installations. I love his work. So much that one of his pieces made it up on the wall of the new Spacey Tracy room.

The shark fin sculpture is rad, as well as all of the other works. Another LAer Charlie Edmiston, added some new pieces to www.charlieedmiston.com.
