Hey it's only an ad, that doesn't mean that those songs are going to be in the actual movie (also "No Church in the Wild" is really appropriate if you think about it). And its directed by the same guy who did "Moulin Rouge" and "Romeo & Juliet", so expect a more modern/stylized approach, as opposed to the old movie (which I love but a lot of people don't care for). From the ad it seems so-so, but there are some great actors and I hope it will come together well on screen, I can't wait to see it!

People need to cool their jets. This is Baz Luhrmann, after all. You weren't REALLY expecting an entire soundtrack full of period appropriate music, were you? That said, I also enjoyed watching Marie Antoinette and co. run around to New Order and The Strokes so...

(I could do without the 3-D, however. 0_o)

I think the musical choices are fine - they are just trying to update the movie to appeal to today's audience. Also, its very typical of the director, Baz Luhrmann, to put in modern music (see: Romeo + Juliet and Moulin Rouge) even when the setting is in the distant past.
Also, this trailer looks sick and I am really excited for the movie to come out!

It's by the director of Romeo + Juliet, of course the soundtrack is going to be modern! I personally cannot wait to see this. Not sure about the 3D bit, but that's only because I know it'll make my ticket more expensive...

Psst... Often times the music that plays along behind the trailer isn't even in the film until maybe the closing credits, if it's in there at all. Don't get too upset before you even see the actual movie!

Visually, it's beautiful, but I have to say it's creative aspects are incredibly misguided. The overblown symbolism already makes itself known in the two and half minute trailer, the music choices are gross approximations of what the audience of this sort of film should want, and as for 3D - it is superfluous and should not fit a film of this subject.
