Kristen: Come on, guys, this isn’t funny.
Taylor: Sure it is. Rob, don’t you think it’s funny?
Rob: Yeah, can’t you tell? Dude, I’m half smiling. That’s like, a big deal for me.
Kristen: It’s not funny. You promised.
Rob: We did not.
Kristen: You did too! You promised if I showed up in jeans and a t-shirt to the fancy Twilight party, you would come naked!
Taylor: Kristen, you’re not allowed to say “naked.”
Rob: He’s right. This is a kid’s movie. Anyway, you look great.
Kristen: That’s because I’m in Genetic denim. And I’m hot.
Taylor: Kristen, you’re not allowed to say “hot.”
Rob: He’s right. This is a kid’s movie.

If we’d known there were going to be so many new “designer” laptop cases, we would have made a trend page for them!
At left is the Harajuku Lovers laptop case by Gwen Stefani, whose little cartoon persona you can see in the blonde hair and purple heart-eyed mask in the print.
They’ve also got an iPhone cover and some other tech-happy goodies.
But not Gwen’s email address.
Which is sad.
Because obviously, who wouldn’t want to IM Gwen in the middle of the night and be like, “Hey, what should I wear tomorrow?”

As anyone who’s watched Project Runway knows, Michael Kors is all about his “inspiration.”
He’s found it in the madcap heiress Doris Duke, the shores of St. Tropez, and the neon explosion of ’80s nightlife.
And now?
He seems to have found it in scuba gear.
What else could explain the massive sunglasses at left, which resemble nothing so much as the oh-so-scary diver at the beginning of Finding Nemo?
They’re called the Cortina Aviator-Style glasses, but really, let’s just call a spade a spade, and book a deep-sea diving trip to Australia.

It’s been six years since Elefant’s hit single Misfit played on rock stations like Indie 103.3 in Los Angeles, and for weeks it seemed like the song was on steady repeat.
Now the band has a new album, a new-ish obsession with Lou Doillon, and a new claim to fame:
They played The Gramercy Hotel’s gilded Rose Bar last night - the same hotel where Stillwater wraps up their tour in Almost Famous - to a packed house of Blonde Young Things, making them not just a hot band but a bit of an uptown-girl obsession.
Spotted in the crowd:
Model Lauren Remington Platt, fashion queen bee Valerie Boster, Abaete designer Laura Poretzsky, trouble-making troubadors Jamie Burke and Jamie Biden, and NYLON babies Dani Stahl, Becka Diamond, and Shruti Ganguly.
As for me, I was in a blogger huddle with Natalie Hormilla (style.com), Britt Aboutaleb (fashionista.com) and Carson Griffiths (guest of a guest) - that is, until I basically crawled onstage with the bassist.
Once a band aid, always a band aid… xo faran

Top Five Moments at the Diesel:U:Music show last night in Miami:
5) The rumor that Shaq was coming (he never did show up).
4) Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt winning over the crowd. I was worried a group of dudes were going to start chucking their cups at them, but instead they just laughed, ran onstage, and started dancing with the band.
3) Kid Cudi rolling into the venue with Drake and Young Jeezy by his side.
2) Santigold forgetting the lyrics to “Anne”, then inviting a fan onstage to whisper the words into her ear.
1) Jemina Pearl asking me when she’s getting her NYLON cover.

The film (Untitled) opens in a hotel lobby, with Adam Goldberg’s character pretending to like his brother’s latest piece.
It’s a running theme throughout the movie, with the bottom line being that hotel art is usually of the bland, boring variety.
Which is what makes the Sagamore Hotel in Miami particularly cool.
Not only is the artwork throughout the hotel continually rotated with the latest from young, emerging artists (right now there’s a lightbulb swing hanging in the lobby and a bunch of 3-D mushroom plastered above the check-in counter), but there are also inspirational quotes stenciled all over the walls.
On the 2nd floor, where I’m shacked up with the rest of the Diesel team, I’m reminded that “painting is just another way of keeping a diary.” (Thanks, Pablo Picasso!)
Even (Untitled)’s Adrian would approve. xxRebecca

“Hey Faran,
I had to scan this baby to send it to you.
It was taken before I, and the rest of the world went digital, in San Francisco, California.
Who knows if it still exists; let’s hope it does!
Angela”
Thanks!
Has anyone in San Francisco seen this wall recently?
And has anyone else got cool graffiti for me?
Send it over: faran@nylonmag.com

Last season, Marc Jacobs made a splash with his Louis Vuitton runway show by fusing fantastic clothes with a very novel headband - one with giant black bunny ears sewn on top.
The bunny ears appeared everywhere, from fashion magazines to TV shows like The Rachel Zoe Project - and even once on Mary Kate and Ashley at the Opening Ceremony party in Tokyo.
Now denim designer Michelle Siwy takes a sassy swipe at the ears in her new lookbook.
Featured alongside her latest jean shorts, Michelle’s featured two black feathers - rigged up by the model as ears.
They’re a good satire on all those hippie headbands in LA, the constant barrage of Vuitton bunny references from last season…
And anyway, they’re cute!
You can check out the rest of Michelle’s new collection on SiwyDenim.com.
There aren’t any more bunny appearances -
But you can spot some cool star-spangled scarves, plus a few shots with Michelle’s gorgeous (and gigantic) puppy!

Sephora’s having a pre-holiday sale, and it’s pretty good.
Besides reduced prices on tons of palettes, they’ve knocked the price of the Zeno down from $160 to $80 (yes, my little math nerds, that’s 50% off).
We’ve used the Zeno many times, and despite its wonky Sci-Fi design, we really like it.
Here’s why:
It’s easy and portable.
It’s non-invasive.
It zaps emerging zits without any extra creams, astringents, salves, or acids.
Plus: It actually works. You can check out the full Sephora sale here.
